March 25, 2020 Message:

Taking care of our communities is central to who we are at The Dime Bank and we want you to know you can rely on us.

Many in our community are concerned and filled with anxiety. The news is a constant stream of COVID-19 updates and market instability. To add to it, many have worries over job stability with so many businesses being asked to close their doors. All of us are being asked to make significant changes to our lives. Some changes have created true hardships, like forgoing our in-person dealings. This measure is critical, and despite the difficulties, we are all in this together.

Our goal is to provide you with the outstanding Dime Bank experience you have come to know and expect. We are here for you even as we adhere to best practices during this pandemic.

At The Dime Bank we are practicing social distancing. We’re actively trying to flatten the curve of COVID-19 and prevent more people from becoming sick. It is with this outlook that last week we decided to temporarily offer lobby assistance by appointment only. Work practices have been adapted to minimize contact. We have asked many support employees to work from home. We have implemented a modified work schedule for front line staff, so we are less crowded in branches and can maintain social distance. Within the branches we are thoroughly washing our hands, sanitizing our spaces, and taking staggered lunch breaks.

With stimulus legislation agreed upon in the Senate, the bill is being drafted and sent on to Congress this week. The proposal may include Small Business Administration enhancements, tax relief, broad FDIC authority for a transaction account guarantee and increased deposit insurance limits.

The Dime Bank has a strong capital position. We offer the protection of FDIC insurance on deposits; click here* for answers to some of your questions regarding FDIC insurance.

Additionally, if you are a small business, or know someone who is a small business owner, the Small Business Administration has some resources and guidance*.

Lastly, we ask that you remain vigilant against scam artists. There are various criminal campaigns out there:

  • Social media accounts are spreading misinformation
  • Email phishing campaigns are using COVID-19 as a lure.
  • Fraudulent coronavirus maps and other COVID-19 links are spreading malware.

Please don’t fall victim. If you aren’t certain that a source is legitimate, do not click on links or respond in any way.

At The Dime Bank, we are doing everything we can to protect our customers, staff, and our communities. We are here to answer any questions you may have. Our customer service center and digital information is listed for your easy reference below.

Thank you for choosing The Dime Bank as your trusted, dependable financial institution.

We are here for you today, tomorrow, and always.

March 20, 2020 Message:

We would like to take this opportunity to keep you up-to-date on the current COVID-19 situation. In light of yesterday's announcement by Governor Tom Wolf to close all non-life-sustaining businesses in Pennsylvania, we want to let you know that The Dime Bank does not fall into that category. Therefore, we continue to be available to assist you with your banking needs.

You depend on us for your financial security and we are committed to servicing your accounts while following guidelines provided by our state officials. We are practicing social distancing with many staff working remotely and meeting with customers by appointments only. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide you with updates as warranted.

On March 18, 2020, we limited access to our lobbies in order to protect the well-being of our customers, staff, and community. We remain strong and well capitalized and are available to service your accounts in our lobbies by appointment only. Our drive-through lanes, ATMs, customer service by telephone, and digital banking remain available.

Thank for your cooperation and understanding as we get through this pandemic together. We hope that you and your family are staying well.

Local Banks Stand United Amid COVID-19 Concerns

The Dime Bank, The Honesdale National Bank, and Wayne Bank Work Collectively to Serve Community

While our institutions are unique, since our individual foundings we have shared a common goal - supporting the residents and businesses across the widening breadth of communities we serve.

Despite age, income, or industry, these are very uncertain times. Therefore, as we often do, The Dime Bank, The Honesdale National Bank, and Wayne Bank are again joining forces to be a point of stability and consistency when many things seem in question.

What this initially means is that we will work collaboratively to share information and updates on the developing issues confronting our industry and communities.

At this time, we are coordinating the protection and health of our employees, customers and community members by moving to drive-up services only at all of our banking locations. At our respective banking locations, lobby service will be provided by appointment only. To establish appointments, please contact your local Bank office. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with our efforts to flatten the curve of COVID-19.

We will remain vigilant to ensure our Main Streets remain vibrant, our families rest assured and our children look back at this time as a showcase of unity not isolation.

We encourage your outreach to share news of need and consideration. We are listening, together, to keep our communities strong.

Help Protect Yourself from Coronavirus

Even though the threat of Coronavirus is not prevalent in our immediate area, it is still important to know the symptoms and take everyday precautions to help minimize the risks. It is always helpful to be prepared. The 2019 Coronavirus is a new virus that causes respiratory illness in people and can spread from person-to-person. You can help prevent the spread of a virus by following these simple steps:

Cover coughs or sneezes with your elbow. Do not use your hands!

Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.

Clean surfaces frequently, including counter tops, light switches, cell phones, remotes, and other frequently touched items.

If you are sick, stay home until you are feeling better.
