The Dime Bank Debit Card is chip enhanced, safer than carrying cash, and more convenient and safer than checks. The very same card is used to make ATM withdrawals 24/7. When you use your debit card, funds come directly from your linked Dime Bank checking account. One tiny piece of plastic; a whole lot of versatility.

Please notify The Dime Bank of your travel plans to ensure your debit cards works where and when you need it. You can call us or travel notices are located within the Settings tab in both Online Banking & the Mobile Dime App.
Stop in or call to make an appointment to instantly receive a new debit card at the following Dime Bank branch locations: Honesdale, Lake Region, Greentown, Dingmans Ferry, and Carbondale.
Immediately activate The Dime Bank Debit Card or report it lost or stolen by calling Dial My Dime at 1-866-342-5693 or logging into your online or mobile account.
To report a lost or stolen The Dime Bank Debit Card:

  • Call our Customer Care Center 1-570-253-1970 Option 0. For Customer Care Center hours of operations visit our Ways to Bank page "By Telephone" section.
  • After banking hours, call 1-866-DIAL-MY-Dime (1-866-342-5693).
  • Report your card lost or stolen anytime by clicking the LOGIN button above and logging into your online account and clicking on the applicable card in the Card Management area of your Dashboard. Select ‘Report lost/stolen’ and indicate the appropriate option.  
  • You may also deactivate your card anytime by using our Mobile Dime App. Click on the applicable card in the Card Management area of your Dashboard. Select ‘Report lost/stolen’ and indicate the appropriate option.
  • Easily and instantly replace your lost or stolen debit card with a new debit card at the following The Dime Bank branch locations: Honesdale, Lake Region, Greentown, Dingmans Ferry, and Carbondale.
For ongoing fraud prevention, please make sure we have your current cell phone number and an email address on file so that we are able to get in touch with you should we detect any potential fraudulent transactions.
Create or change your Personal Identification Number (PIN) by calling 1-800-290-7893 or in person at the following branch locations: Honesdale, Greentown, Dingmans Ferry, Lake Region, or Carbondale. You can also change your existing PIN at our ATMs, but you must know your existing PIN.
Turn your card on/off for a period of time. Simply select the card you want to lock and toggle the switch. Transactions will be denied, but recurring payments may continue. Any credits or deposits to the card will also be allowed. Turn the toggle to on when you want to use the card.
Add The Dime Bank Debit Card to your Mobile Wallet. With a quick tap of your phone or smartwatch, you can shop with your mobile device at participating merchants in-store, in-app, and online, providing extra convenience!
Manage The Dime Bank debit card inside Online Banking and the Mobile Dime App, providing you more security and control over your spending and purchases by defining when, where, and how your debit card is used.

Simply go to the main dashboard in the Card Management section or select the Card Management tab when navigating into an account that has a debit card tied to the account.
 
Set up Alerts and protections.
Choose the card you want to set controls on, click on Alerts and protections and you can enable a wealth of card notifications based on dollar amount, transaction type, merchant type, and more, allowing you to control when you get alerted or when to decline a specific transaction.

Set your preferred notification methods with the following options: in-app message, email, text message.

You can choose to be notified on all transactions by activating the Notify me on all transactions toggle.

Locations. Set notifications or block transactions from international locations.

Merchant Types. Set notifications or block from specific merchant types. The available list includes:
  • Department store -Includes clothing, accessories, office supplies, electronics, etc.
  • Entertainment - Includes amusement parks, movie theaters, arcades, etc.
  • Gas station - Includes fuel dispensers, warehouse club gas, etc.
  • Grocery - Includes supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, etc.
  • Household - Includes utilities, contracted services like electricians, plumbers, and A/C repair, etc.
  • Personal care - Includes drug stores, pharmacies, health professionals, etc.
  • Restaurant - Includes diners, fast-food, cafeterias, etc.
  • Travel - Includes airlines, car rentals, hotels, etc.
  • Age restricted - Includes liquor stores, smoke shops, casinos, adult stores, etc.
  • Other - Purchases at other merchants

Transaction Types. Set notifications or block transactions on specific types of transactions including:
  • In-Store - Includes department stores, pharmacies, other retail stores, etc.
  • eCommerce - Includes online bill payment, online shopping, etc.
  • Mail/Phone order - Includes catalog shopping, travel agent payments, etc.
  • Auto Pay - Includes automated bill payment, monthly suspense payments, etc.
  • ATM - Includes bank ATMs, vendor ATMs, cash advance, etc.
  • Other - Includes other cases outside of standard types.

Set Spending Limits. You can budget yourself by setting up individual transaction and monthly spending limits.
  • Spending limit - Transactions over this amount will be blocked and an alert will be sent to the user.
  • Spending alert - Transactions over this amount will send an alert to the user but will not be blocked.
  • Monthly spending limit - Transactions that would bring the user’s monthly spending over this amount will be blocked and an alert will be sent.
  • Monthly spending alert - Transactions that would bring the user’s monthly spending over this amount will send an alert but will not be blocked.
Each of these controls can be set independently. However, the app will enforce a set of rules for these limits: If both limit and alert are set, the alert amount must be lower than the limit. Transaction limits and alerts must be lower than any corresponding monthly limits and alerts. If any of these rules are violated, the user will be unable to save their settings and an input error will display.

Lock your card.

Report your card lost or stolen.
Click on the applicable card in the Card Management area of your Dashboard. Select ‘Report lost/stolen’ and indicate the appropriate option.

Travel Plans.
Notify The Dime Bank of your travel plans to ensure your debit cards works where and when you need it. 

There are a few ways you can set up a domestic travel notice for your debit card:
  • Under your online banking Settings section
  • Under your mobile banking Card Management section
  • Visit The Dime Bank branch
  • Call The Dime Bank at 570-253-1970, Option 0
If you need to set up an international travel notice, it can only be placed in person or over the phone. To set up an international travel notice for your debit card, please visit your local Dime Bank branch or call us at 570-253-1970, option 0.
I am nervous about debit card fraud / breaches. Can I get a new card?
Yes, you can instantly receive a new card at the following The Dime Bank branch locations: Honesdale, Lake Region, Greentown, Dingmans Ferry, and Carbondale. Otherwise, we can order you a new card and you will receive it in the mail in about 7-10 business days.

Can I keep my old card open while a new card is ordered?
We would prefer that if your card may have been compromised, that the card be deactivated immediately to safeguard your money.

What if I do not know my PIN?
Bank employees do not have access to your PIN but you can visit our Honesdale, Lake Region, Greentown, Dingmans Ferry, or Carbondale branch to re-pin your debit card.

What if I'm having trouble using my PIN?
Please call our Customer Care Center at 1-570-253-1970, option 0 for assistance. For Customer Care Center hours of operations visit our Ways to Bank page "By Telephone" section.

What else can I do to protect my money?
Check your accounts regularly to monitor activity. If you detect any fraudulent activity, report it immediately by calling our fraud department at 1-570-253-1970, option 2 and deactivate your card by:
  • Click the LOGIN button above and log into your online banking account. Click on the applicable card in the Card Management area of your Dashboard. Select 'Report lost/stolen' and indicate the appropriate option.
  • Log into your Mobile Dime App and click on the applicable card in the Card Management area of your Dashboard. Select 'Report lost/stolen' and indicate the appropriate option.
  • Calling 1-570-253-1970, option 0 for our Customer Care Center. For Customer Care Center hours of operations visit our Ways to Bank page "By Telephone" section.
  • Call Dial My Dime at 1-866-342-5693, option 5 for card services.

What is MasterCard® Automatic Billing Updater?
Enjoy automatic enrollment in the MasterCard® Automatic Billing Updater (ABU) service that provides your updated debit card information to participating merchants who maintain your debit card information on file to process your preauthorized payments. This ensures as little disruption as possible for your card-on-file transactions and automated / recurring payments if your card information changes.
  • Sign the back of your card.
  • If you have an existing card, destroy it when you receive a new card.
  • If your card is lost or stolen, deactivate it immediately by calling Dial My Dime at 1-866-342-5693 or logging into your online or mobile banking account. You can also temporarily suspend your debit card via our mobile app.
  • Do not write your Personal Identification Number (PIN) on the back of the card or carry it with the card.
